Wednesday, 15th May 2024: Lidl Ireland have been named the Most Reputable Retailer and 2nd Most Reputable Organisation overall in the Ireland RepTrak® 2024 study of 100 organisations. The position is the retailer’s highest placing since the study began in 2000 and underscores how Lidl’s proposition is continuing to resonate strongly with Irish shoppers. In April, Lidl hit a record 52-week market share topping 13.4% and has been the fastest growing retailer in the previous 4-week period.
Speaking about Lidl’s placing in the Ireland RepTrak® 2024 study, J.P. Scally, Chief Executive Officer, Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, commented:
“Our reputation as a responsible, sustainable retailer that delivers on our price and quality promise is paramount to our performance as a business, and we’re delighted to see that Irish shoppers, suppliers, business partners and future employees are continuing to make Lidl their first choice. We have worked hard across all areas of the business to build, maintain and enhance our reputation over the years, taking calculated risks with industry-leading initiatives whilst always remaining true to who we are. Today’s results reflect how we’ve crafted a unique position for ourselves not only in supermarket retail, but as a leading brand in Ireland.”
The Reputations Agency today announced the results of the study, the largest and longest running study of reputation in Ireland. The study is based on the perceptions of more than 5,000 members of the public. It measures the level of trust, respect, admiration and esteem the public has for 100 organisations in Ireland, alongside 100 other Reputation, Brand, Purpose and ESG indicators.
Lidl was also recently named Ireland’s Most Emotionally Connected Retailer and Ireland’s 3rd Most Emotionally Connected Brand after Cadbury’s and Tayto in the Brand Reaction Index published by Red C, jumping 7 points to claim the top retailer spot in just one year.
