Lidl’s commitment to quality

The origins of our products are important to us, which is why we only work with producers who meet our standards and match our values. 70% of our products are sourced from within Ireland, and we’re proud to support Irish farmers and suppliers.

We only want the best quality products, but have a responsibility to ensure these are ethically and sustainably sourced. Through working closely with a number of independent organisations, we can support our suppliers in maintaining high welfare standards.

We also invest in our team to ensure they are trained to maintain and deliver the freshest quality produce in stores and we maintain rigorous quality control processes. Each of our stores has a Fresh Responsible Person who checks fresh areas multiple times daily to ensure only the best is available for our customers.

We love to hear feedback from customers and suggestions for improvement are always welcome. In our stores you will see a "Happy-or-Not" terminal at the exit - data from this helps us deliver a better level of customer service and ensure that our vision is brought to life.

Quality assured to the highest standards

Our mission states that we "guarantee quality products through a rigorous development and quality control process". This applies to all products we sell - whether they be our listed food range or any of our weekly special offer products. Lidl maintains the highest standards and has established both a local an international control system so we can quickly adapt to any unforeseen incidents. We also have a comprehensive refund policy in place for customers who have issues or are not satisfied with a product.

Food standards

Our mission states that we "guarantee quality products through a rigorous development and quality control process" and food quality is of the upmost importance to Lidl. From new product development right through to products appearing on our shelves they undergo a series of comprehensive quality testings both internally and by reputable external bodies.

Labelling serves an extremely important function for customers and we ensure our labels are fully compliant with all regulations.

From mixers to toys: safety is paramount

It is not just food that we hold ourselves to the highest standard with. Everything we sell is subject to rigourous testing from leading independent test institutes such as the Hohenstein Institute, so our customers can rest assured that the product they buy in Lidl has been tested to the highest level.
